i am super pissed off and disgusted by how dentists earn money so easily
so i went to dentist after school at arnd 5 after my dad forced me to go polish my teeth cos its apparently dam yellow. -.- i asian wat, wats wrong with yellow. so anw went to this run down deserted clinic? if thats wat u can call it. i thot i wld nvr see an older shop after going to chinatown shophouses(those in the 60s) bt of course i was wrong. then this dentist came out said wait a while. a note, he had no assistant, not even a proper reception area. its jz a room and a waiting room outside.
then this man came frm within the darkness and said" come in" . so i went into the dark room surrounded by tainted glasses so tt u cannot see wats inside. so anw, as expected the fuses were old and faulty, the fans looked like they have nt been cleaned for 10 years. then he proceeded with the polishing which took 10 mins. then, he found cavities, 2 of them in fact so he told my dad i needed to fill them. so he continued his work...another 5 mins. at the end, $95. WTF!?! 95 bucks for using some shit to clean my teeth and adding some filling to my tooth. and all in 15 mins. so it means that for each minute this dentist worked, he earns arnd 6 bucks. old pple at macs earn 4 bucks an hr i think and they do more work than this guy la. screw being a doctor. i have a new ambition, i want to be a dentist. actually it wun seem like a bad idea. cos for 1, i dun get much patients everyday and i can still survive based on the 6 bucks per minute work. furthermore, there are no stress to cope with other than seeing some really disgusting mouths bt i have seen real gross stuff so i guess i can live with it. the only thing stopping me now is myself. cos i dun think i want to see someones mouth and doing the same thing everyday. for a doctor however, at least the patients have different varieties. some have flu, some have fever(lol) so my job scope changes each day. and of course not forgetting dentists do not get pple wanting to extract teeth everyday. bt then again, for each tooth, i heard it costs arnd 60 bucks. so then again, it might not seem so bad to be a dentist.
i have 4 more yrs to decide wat i want to be when i grow up. so i can carefully weight the pros and cons of the possible career choices. who knows, i might even be a teacher *shrugs*
