it seems that blogging has become a popular pastime for many with an increadible 2 friends of mine having created new blogs in the past few days. so i decided to start blogging again although no one comes and the tagboard is constantly dead. but nevertheless, the passion to blog is back in me.
anw, woke up retardedly early by a school holiday standard(7 30 am) to go shangahi with my sis and mum. we went to the bus station and caught a bus to go shanghai. trip took abt 1 1/2 hrs and when we arrived, weather was good. we then took mrt to wai tan( some sea place in front of dong fang minzhu which is some tall tower with a ball in the centre). in the train, we are totally packed liek sardines. the only chance u get to sit down is if u board right at the start. and at 11 am on a working day, i really cant see where the people coming from. i can onyl come to a conclusion- there are many jobless people in china. so we stood for like 8 stops before we arrived at our designated mrt station and continued walkikng b4 we finally arrived at the place. the view is breathtaking, or rather the wind. u stand at the edge and feel the winter breeze blowing towards u, the feeling is dam shuang. took a hell lot of photos there even though its like our 3rd time there. -.-'' dun ask me why.
following that, we went ajisen for lunch and it rocked. the food is cheap like siao. we ordered one ma la mian, one scallop la mian, a serving of guo tie, a serving of fried prawns and another serving of fried sotong and it only costs 19 sing. ajisen in singapore is quite ex, at least more than here la.
after that we went to the new xiang yang market( the shopping heavan which no longer exists) at some old muesom. for those who duno, xiang yang market used to be th most popular place for toursists for the cheap bargains for stuff like watches, bags, clothes. the place as i remembered at its old site was forever crowded and u can walk for hours and still not finish shopping. the new xiang yang( revamped due to the phasing out of pirated goods) has nothing, nothing of the old brilliance. the shops are bigger, air conditoned, but quiet. no longer is there the familiar sound of argueing over prices with the owners. the place is so empty that u can put 100 elepahnts and still have space to move (i was tempted to use deyong but i resisted) such a sad end to wat was once the most popular place in shanghai. the prices consequently increased with the higher rent in such a expensive location. which is really sad as this was wat attracted tourists. we used to spend 3 hrs and have no intention of leaving. today, we stayed for an hour and left buyign almost nothing.
following that, we went to parkson which has a nice singapore restaurant which sells food that is dam ex. we went and ate roti prata and an ice kachang which costs liek 10 sing. u can get this for mayb 2.50 in singapore. but we always eat there despite this even though we can eat it everyday in singapore but heck, the fun is in trying ur home country food overseas and see whetehr it sux.
after that did more shopping and took a bus back again. sadly, shanghai now has nothign of interest to me. so dun think will be going back anytime soon.
